The threaded rod with welded hook is 85 mm long, has an M10x1 thread and is made of high-strength steel. It's the suspension point for chandeliers on a chain: the rod is fixed via the thread, and the chain with the light hangs from the hook.
This makes sense for heavy lamps and for set-ups with several fabric cable pendants on one frame, where the cable shouldn't carry the load. At Lampisto, combine them with chain, ceiling rose and cable. For ceiling mounting: if in doubt, ask a qualified electrician.
