Light Bulbs

When the lamp holder is exposed, the bulb is part of the design. That's why we stock LED filament bulbs in every shape – globe in four sizes, Edison, teardrop, candle, linear, spiral – with colour temperatures from 1800 K (carbon filament) to 3500 K, most of them dimmable. All fit our lamp holders, sorted by base in the configurator.

Buying guide

With bare lamp holders, the bulb is the design. Look out for three values: colour temperature (1800–2200 K is candlelight, 2700 K classic warm white, from 3000 K neutral), brightness in lumens (250 lm for mood, 470 lm for the dining table, 800 lm for working) and dimmability.

All the bulbs here are LED. The shape – globe, Edison, candle, tube – determines how the light looks when it's off. Gold or smoked glass makes the light warmer; clear glass shows off the filament best.

Which colour temperature is right?
Living room and bedroom: 2200–2700 K. Kitchen and bathroom: 2700–3000 K. Workspace: 3000–4000 K. Below 2200 K it gets very cosy, but colours look distorted.
How many lumens do I need?
As a pendant over the table 400–800 lm per light, as mood lighting 150–300 lm, for a work surface 800 lm and more. Several small bulbs often give more pleasant light than one large one.
What do I need for dimming?
A dimmable bulb and an LED-compatible dimmer (trailing edge). For plug-in lights an inline dimmer in the cable is enough. Non-dimmable LEDs flicker or break when connected to a dimmer.
Does E27 fit every lamp holder?
In any E27 lamp holder, yes – that's the large standard base. E14 is the small base, GU10 the plug-in base for spots. The base is listed in the technical data of every lamp holder and bulb.
